Shortly after President Kennedy announced plans for Americans to fly to the moon, in 1961, the land for the Kennedy Space Center was approved by Congress. Since that time, the Kennedy Space Center has been the prime location for landing and launches. The space station has also been deemed the primary launching place for the NASA space station.
The Kennedy Space Station is the only place on Earth where visitors can come and see launching pads up close. There are many space exhibits and attractions that are sure to please the whole family!
